Welcome to the Adult Emergency Medicine website of
Auckland City Hospital. The department is one of two major trauma centre's
serving the Auckland region. The hospital serves a population of approximately
500,000 and also provides specialized treatment for patients from other centers
in New Zealand and the Pacific region.
The Department is affiliated with the
Auckland University Faculty of Medicine and Health
Sciences and is actively involved in undergraduate and
postgraduate education

ADULT EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
The Department sees approximately 50,000 patients annually with a high index of disease severity . The Department is co-located with the Starship Hospital's Paediatric Emergency Department which sees approximately 30,000 patients annually, making the Auckland campus one of the busiest in Australasia . The department has an excellent faculty with expertise in resuscitation, disaster medicine, research and clinical toxicology .
